Jellyfish, unlike most animals, lack a cardiovascular system. Since they do not have any cardiovascular system, they have one gastro-vascular system, which is a combination of a respiratory, cardiovascular, and digestive system. As opposed to having blood travel through their bodies like humans, jellyfish are able to use different gases to perform functions. They are able to do this because they have very thin skin, so their epidermis is susceptible to many materials and gases, that can be absorbed by the gastrodermis. After being absorbed form the gastrodermis, materials needed are then diffused into different parts of the jellyfish’s body.
